Ego Surf

I have done an Ego surf before. The first thing that comes up in Google is this guy. His name is Congressman Chris Cannon. He is part of a well known Cannon family from Utah. We are not related. I am also not related to the adult film star Chris Cannon.

At last, if you just add the word "art" after my name, you will find this picture of me. Third one on the list.

Funny, I also found a Christopher Cannon that is an artist as well. Our work is very different. Probably because he totes around that annoying "topher" on his name. Glad I got rid of that.

DTC 356 Project 1

I chose to do my project on the rising cesarean rates in the United States. When my wife was pregnant with my first child, we tried to investigate every possible option available to us. After visiting the National Birthing Conference I left with a strong opinion of how I would like my children born. It was alarming to me, the rate these volunteered inductions and cesareans were happening. At times it seems like women in labor are going to a baby factory rather than a place to give birth.

Practices of Looking #1

It seems that everywhere you look there is some sort of media calling for our attention. From billboards, print ads and digital media, it is everywhere. The media has saturated our environment with texts and images, creating a visual culture. "Practices of Looking"
investigates how all the different media works together.

Welcome to my blog! Here you will find nothing important. Just my required ramblings about "Practices of Looking: An Introduction to Visual Culture" by Marita Sturken and Lisa Cartwright
. There will also be some dribble about other things that are related to DTC356. That's it. Nothing else to see here.
